Acupuncture

We love needles at the clinic, big ones, small ones, facial ones you name it, we like it!

Each and every one of our therapists offer a form of needling whether it be Western or TCM based Acupuncture or Dry Needling. This form of treatment is complimentary to injury resolution through pain desensitisation, inflammatory management, muscle stimulation or muscle inhibition.

Acupuncture promotes the natural healing of the body. It involves the insertion of needles into specific points along the meridians of the body. Acupuncture is a safe and effective natural therapy that helps to reduce the need for pain medications with minimal or no side effects. Qualified physiotherapists who practice Acupuncture have completed formal training and received a qualification to use Acupuncture in addition to their four year Physiotherapy degree.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves the insertion of needles into the muscle particularly into myofascial trigger points. This technique assists in reducing pain or dysfunction of a muscular origin. Dry needling is often used to either relax a muscle that is overactive or facilitate a muscle that is under-active. Each of our therapists who perform dry needling have undertaken the formal training in this technique.
